Keramas Surf Resort, Bali

Keramas is a classic right, best in the wet season from October to April, when big swells make it a world class wave. On smaller swells at higher tides, it's much more mellow - fast and fun from 3ft up.

Half a dozen beach breaks, within walking distance of the resort, provide great waves for recreational surfers all year round - this is the most consistent coast in Bali.

The resort's local surf guides do daily trips to the best waves around the island, depending on conditions and our guests' preferences.

From May to September, the best waves are on the west side, and our van will take you across to lefts and rights at Balian and Berewa, or down to the legendary big breaks on the Bukit Peninsula, like Uluwatu and Impossibles.

From October to April, there are fun rights and lefts not far away at Serangan, and big reef breaks at Tandjungs and Nusa Dua.

Swim in the free-form swimming pool, relax in the lounge, indulge in a massage in the garden gazebo, check out the surf from the upstairs balcony, shoot some pool in the games room, or enjoy a DVD with the kids in the TV room.

Non-surfers can try diving, yoga, golf or horse-back riding on the beach; tour to Balinese temples, ride an elephant, hit the waterpark, shop in Kuta, come clubbing in Seminyak or learn to surf at the Best Surf School in Bali.

The resort is on the little-developed south-east coast of Bali, about 45 minutes from the airport, close to a consistent beach break and 2km from the famous Keramas right hander.

Atoll travel will book international flights to Bali's Denpasar airport where guests are met and transferred to the resort. The inclusive, seven night Surfers Package is from Sunday to Sunday, with all transfers, five days guided surf trips around Bali, seven nights accommodation in twin or double room, daily breakfast and five dinners, plus optional buffet dinner and cultural night in Ubud, and party night in Kuta/Seminyak.

Optional extra activities including surf school, surfboard rental, cutural and shopping tours, yoga, diving, massage - all available for very reasonable extra cost.
