Inner Atolls Surfing
|
 |
Many surfers enjoy the feeling
of freedom on a live-aboard boat surfari. Waves like Chickens
and Colas are some distance from the resorts, so
boat-based surfers will be there before the resort boats arrive,
and can surf there until late afternoon.
In the evening your boat can stop at a resort, so you can enjoy drinks at a bar, a disco night or a cultural show. Surfari trips are great for fishing too, and your catch can be cooked fresh for dinner.

|
 |
An Inner Atoll Surfari is also the best option for
surfing South Male' Atoll. Approximately 3 hours cruising from the
resorts of North Male' Atoll, the South Male' Atoll breaks are usually
smaller, but are less visited and a good alternative when the swell
is up. (Click here for more information about Maldives
Surf.) |

MV Sunset Queen
|
 |
The main vessel we use for Inner Atoll Surfaris is
MV Sunset Queen.
This luxury 30-metre motor yacht has nine ensuite cabins (four
with double beds, four with twin beds and one single cabin). There's
air conditioning throughout, Jacuzzi, bar, TV/DVD/CD players, and
an open sun deck. |
 |
 |
Sunset Queen uses a dinghy
and a support dhoni to access the waves and allow extra surf time
when the main boat is anchored.
Communications gear includes Radio Telephone, Mobile Telephone,
VHF, CB Radio, as well as full complement of safety and emergency
equipment.
In 2009, some of our Inner Atolls charters may use MV Finolhu,
a brand new vessel of a similar high standard. |

The Trips
|
 |
Inner Atoll Surfari charters are arranged
on a group basis only. Guests are met on arrival at the Maldives
international airport, and join their Surfari vessel, which is fully
stocked and equipped for the trip. Then the group is free to make
its own itinerary in conjunction with the skipper and surf guide,
deciding where to go and which breaks to surf every day. .
