About Us
Atoll Travel started as a surf travel specialist offering surf trips to the Maldives, coordinating the bookings for Tony Hussein Hinde's very successful Atoll Adventures surfing program.
With a solid reputation for reliable service, Atoll Travel was then asked to represent Savaii Surfaris and Salani Surf Resort, both offering access to the demanding surf breaks in Samoa.
Having expanded into boat based trips in the Maldives' outer atolls, Atoll Travel explored new opportunities for surf travel in Indonesia. The company now represents selected charter boat operations: Mahalo II out of West Timor, Barrenjoey and Midas cruising the Mentawais, Bohemian in North Sumatra, and Dreamweaver, surfing Lombok and Sumbawa.
Two Indonesian surf resorts are also represented, Nemberala in West Timor, and Macaronis in the Mentawais. Atoll Travel knows these operations well - all have a good reputation and experience in the region so their and ability to provide reliable service is assured.
In Tonga, Atoll Travel represents Ha'atafu Beach resort, one of the world's original surf resort operations. In Sri Lanka, Atoll Travel is now offering a number of surfside properties, as well as eco-cultural tours with an excellent local operator.
Recognising that many of its surfing destinations also have great diving and fishing, Atoll Travel is now offering a limited range of holidays specialising in those activities, or providing them for the non-surfing partners or travel companions of surfing clients.
Concentrating on a limited number of destinations means close cooperation with the operators, which in turn means full attention is given to all aspects of the tour, the better to uphold reliability and maintain client satisfaction. All operators are licensed businesses in their own country, and operate in a manner that is respectful of local laws, customs and culture. All surf operations are run by surfers with longtime local surf knowledge of their respective areas.
